The Military Hunting Society, an all-Russian sports public organization, celebrates its 100th anniversary. On this occasion, solemn events dedicated to the anniversary were held at the Kuzminki Shooting and Sports Complex.

Recall that on October 10, 1921, by order of the Revolutionary Military Council, the Central Commission for Hunting and Fishing was created under the General Staff of the Red Army. And it is this date that is considered to be the birthday of the SBI.
For many decades, the Military Hunting Society was actually a structural subdivision of the Ministry of Defense. Cadre officers headed the organization, determined the strategic directions of development, conducted hunting and procurement activities, created specialized industries, held sports events, organized recreation at subordinate bases for military personnel and their families. Hunting farms existed in many parts of our country, and the ranks of the Society numbered about three hundred thousand people.
Today, the Military Hunting Society is a public organization, but its activities are also connected with the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation and servicemen are the main asset of the Society.
Over the years of active work, the SBI has trained more than 8 thousand sportsmen-ranked, of which more than 350 masters of sports, 3 thousand sports judges, including more than 300 judges of the all-Union and republican categories.
