The collected data allows us to draw up an objective and holistic picture of the state of green spaces.
Seasonal monitoring of green spaces has been completed in Moscow. More than 10 thousand trees and 19 thousand shrubs were examined at 130 sites of constant observation.
Experts measured the height, diameter of the trunks and the projection of the crowns, assessed the viability and decorative qualities of plants, checked them for the presence of diseases, pests and damage.
Each tree and shrub is assigned a serial number. This allows you to quickly find and identify them. The results of the survey are entered into special passports and statements that each observation site has.
The collected data is carefully analyzed. They make it possible to draw up an objective and holistic picture of the state of green spaces in Moscow.
Moscow is one of the greenest megacities in the world. 49 percent of the capital’s area is occupied by trees and shrubs.
