On October 11-12, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Sergey Vershinin held a series of bilateral meetings on the sidelines of the jubilee meeting of the Non-Aligned Movement on the occasion of the 60th anniversary of unification – with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Serbia N. Selakovic, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Gabon P. Mubule -Bubeya, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Syria F. Mikdad, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Venezuela F. Plasencia, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Lebanon A. Buhabib, Senior Political Adviser to the President of Eritrea Y. Gebreab, and Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kenya A. Namwamba, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Affairs of Libya M. Issoy, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Egypt I. Badauyi, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Belarus S. F. Aleinik and representatives of Mali.
An extensive exchange of views took place on international and regional issues of mutual interest, including the settlement of crises in the Middle East, Africa and Latin America on the basis of respect for the sovereignty of countries and non-interference in internal affairs, maintaining stability while neutralizing the terrorist threat, and comprehensively addressing humanitarian tasks.
The importance of continuing coordination and building up interaction between member states and observers of the Non-Aligned Movement was reaffirmed in the interests of effectively countering common challenges, including the COVID-19 pandemic, global climate change, ensuring food security, protecting and promoting human rights.
