As part of the reconstruction of the Baikal-Amur Mainline (BAM) branch, logistics specialists (MTO) of the Eastern Military District (VVO), by means of a ferry crossing the Zeya River, transported over 3,000 units of construction equipment.

These works are carried out near the village of Verkhnezeysk in the Amur Region using the modules of the pontoon-bridge park (PMP). They are towed by special boats BMK-150. The width of the river bed in the area of the crossing is about 2000 meters. The carrying capacity of one section of the induced pontoon ferry is about 80 tons.

Almost every day, servicemen of the military transport unit of the Air Defense Forces perform about two dozen flights. At the same time, specialists transport up to fifty units of vehicles, including heavy dump trucks with soil for filling field camps, vehicle fleets and highways, as well as other construction equipment and various cargoes.
