Servicemen of the Tula Guards Airborne Force visited one of the oldest residents of the hero-city of Tula, a veteran paratrooper of the Great Patriotic War Mikhail Ivanovich Ivanov and congratulated him on his 100th anniversary.

On behalf of the commander of the formation, Colonel Vladimir Seliverstov, Mikhail Ivanovich was presented with gifts and a congratulatory address, in which the commander of the formation noted: “Your life path and professional activity are inextricably linked with selfless service to the Fatherland, with the upbringing of the younger generation in the best traditions of the Russian army. Mikhail Ivanovich Ivanov was born on October 11, 1921. After graduating from medical school, in 1941 he went to the front. He served in the 7th Airborne Brigade.

Since 1946, he served in the Tula Guards Airborne Formation as a paratrooper at the parachute regiment’s medical center. From 1948 to 1970 he served in the medical sanitary battalion of the compound as a technician for the maintenance of medical equipment, head of a pharmacy, and head of medical supplies.
