Mikhail Ivanovich Ivanov was born on October 11, 1921. After graduating from medical school, in 1941 he went to the front. He served in the 7th Airborne Brigade.

Since 1946, he served in the Tula Guards Airborne Formation as a paratrooper at the parachute regiment’s medical center. From 1948 to 1970 he served in the medical sanitary battalion of the compound as a technician for the maintenance of medical equipment, head of a pharmacy, and head of medical supplies.
