The new section will improve traffic in the southeast of the city, provide an exit to Shosseynaya Street from the Kashirskoye Highway and connect Batyuninskaya Street and the eponymous passage.

The builders have begun assembling the span structures of the overpasses on the fifth section of the South-Eastern Expressway (SEA), said the head of the capital Construction Department Rafik Zagrutdinov.

“We have started assembling the steel structures of the superstructures of two overpasses on the section of the South-Eastern Expressway from Polbina Street to Kuryanovskiy Boulevard,” he specified.

In addition, work continues on replacing the soils of the road base and the arrangement of utilities: the construction of a drain, a heating network, a communications network, electrical networks and street lighting.

“On this section of the expressway, 10.8 kilometers of roads are being built and reconstructed, two overpasses are being built, an underground pedestrian crossing near house 41 on 1st Kuryanovskaya Street,” Rafik Zagrutdinov explained.

The pedestrian crossing will provide a passage under Shosseynaya Street in the area of ​​intersection with Kuryanovskiy Boulevard and an exit to the projected Kuryanovo transport interchange hub. The new section of the expressway will improve the transport situation in the southeast of the city, provide an exit to Shosseynaya Street from the Kashirskoye Highway and an exit from Batyuninskaya Street to Batyuninskiy Proezd. Batyuninskaya and 1st Kuryanovskaya streets will be reconstructed, as well as the transport interchange on Polbina and Shosseynaya streets.

The chord system of high-speed highways that is being formed in the capital, including the North-West, North-East, South-East expressways and the South Road, is the main project for the modern development of the capital’s road transport network. The SE will run from Entuziastov Highway to Varshavskoye Highway, connecting the North-East Expressway, Ryazansky Prospekt, Third Transport Ring, Volgogradsky Prospect, Shosseynaya Street, Kashirskoye Highway, Kaspiyskaya Street, Yuzhnyaya Rockada, Podolskikh Kursantov and Lipetskaya Streets, MKAD with an exit to the TyNAO Solntsevo – Butovo – Warsaw highway.
