The scouts of the mountain formation of the 49th Combined Arms Army of the Southern Military District (YuVO) in Karachay-Cherkessia received a batch of modernized Dragunov SVDM sniper rifles and an army large-caliber sniper rifle ASVK-M “Kord-M” 12.7 mm caliber.

The SVDM rifle is distinguished by reliable gas-operated automatic equipment, has a weighted barrel with an effective flame arrester, which contributes to an increase in the level of stability and accuracy of the battle. Optical and night sights are mounted on the Picatinny rail on the receiver cover and on the side rail. Also, the SVDM has backup mechanical sights and a mount for a folding bipod in the front of the forearm.

The ASVK-M rifle, which is part of the “Ratnik” promising military equipment system, is distinguished by its lighter weight, increased resource (increased to 4500 rounds), as well as the ability to adjust the release force. The design of the weapon also allows the use of various optical and night sights.

In addition, the reconnaissance units of the 49th Army of the Southern Military District were armed with a modernized Kalashnikov assault rifle AK-74M with a modernization kit KM-AK “Obves”, which differ in the presence of a flash suppressor and a tactical flashlight, in contrast to the AK-74M for combined arms units.

The kit “Body kit” provides for the use of a new forend and receiver cover. The machine now has a glass-filled polyamide fore-end, a flashlight, a laser designator and other compatible equipment. AK-74M with the “Body kit” is 1.3 times more accurate than the base product.
