In the Leningrad Region, aviation rescuers of the Leningrad Air Force and Air Defense Association conducted a training session to rescue soldiers in distress from the water.

According to the plan of the training, an aircraft with passengers on board suffered a disaster near the coastline in the water area of ​​the Gulf of Finland. A Mi-8 search and rescue helicopter with a team of aviation rescuers and special equipment flew into the disaster area.

After searching for people, the helicopter commander made a parachute landing of the search and rescue group on the water using a winch. The victims were taken in turn aboard a helicopter hovering in the air, where they were given medical assistance.

In total, 10 flights to the water area of ​​the Gulf of Finland were made to carry out search and rescue operations and evacuate the conditionally wounded.
