The calculations of the newest Buk-M3 anti-aircraft missile systems of the Western Military District (ZVO) carried out practical launches at the Kapustin Yar training ground in the Astrakhan region.
Anti-aircraft gunners carried out launches from the Buk-M3 air defense missile system at high-altitude high-speed targets, simulating a raid of operational-tactical aviation of a simulated enemy. In total, about 10 targets were hit.
To create a target environment, high-altitude high-speed missile targets of the “Saman” type were used, fired at a distance of over 100 km. Combat firing took place in the normal mode, all systems of the complexes were tested for operability in conditions of use at different altitudes from low-flying to high-altitude (up to 16 thousand meters), with different types of targets in conditions of suppression of radar means.
After practical launches, personnel and military equipment will march to the point of permanent deployment in a combined way. In total, the military echelon will travel about 1,000 kilometers by rail.
The highly mobile multifunctional anti-aircraft missile system “Buk-M3” is designed to destroy aircraft of all types in all ranges of their practical use, fire radio-contrast ground targets and defeat surface targets in conditions of intense fire and electronic countermeasures.
