Since the beginning of the coronavirus pandemic, more than 1.1 thousand civilians have been treated in the new multifunctional medical centers of the Western Military District (ZVO), built in 2020.
In addition, for 3 months of work of military specialists in the regional hospital of the city of Shchekin, Tula region, almost 1.2 thousand people were provided with assistance in the treatment of patients with Covid-19, almost 25 thousand people were vaccinated.
Also, specialists from the military medical organizations of the Western Military District provided assistance in the fight against coronavirus infection outside the military district, in other constituent entities of the Russian Federation – in South Ossetia, in the Komi Republic (the cities of Syktyvkar, Ukhta, Pechora).
Since the beginning of October of this year, 30 specialists of the medical service of the ZVO tank army have also been providing assistance to civilian colleagues in the Tula region in the treatment of patients with a new coronavirus infection.
In the military medical organizations of the city of St. Petersburg, 250 beds were allocated to provide assistance to the civilian population for the treatment of patients with a new coronavirus infection.
“The work on counteracting the coronavirus infection continues. The troops (forces) of the Western Military District have fully completed the vaccination of their personnel and more than 65,000 military personnel and civilian specialists have already received the second component of the vaccine as part of the revaccination, ”said the deputy head of the medical department of the Western military district, lieutenant colonel of the medical service Albert Zhornyak.
