Servicemen of the motorized rifle regiment of the army corps of the Baltic Fleet at the Pravdinsky training ground in the Kaliningrad region, as part of a control check, fired from BMP-3 infantry fighting vehicles.

Motorized riflemen fired from the entire range of weapons of military equipment – a 100-mm gun, a 30-mm automatic cannon and a 7.62-mm PKT machine gun – at targets imitating armored vehicles and manpower of a conventional enemy.

Also, as part of the control check, the BMP-3 crews fired intensively from 30-mm cannons at the advancing manpower of the mock enemy at night. Dynamic targets imitating the offensive of a simulated enemy motorized rifle battalion were located at a distance of 500 to 1500 meters. Each target was illuminated with a weak infrared light for aiming in total darkness. During the live fire, the servicemen hit more than 100 targets.

Control firing is an integral part of combat training, where the level of training of each serviceman is checked, as well as the coordination of the crew’s actions when firing simultaneously from three combat vehicles. The synchronization of shots is necessary to create the maximum density of fire during combat.

Based on the results of the firing, the best crews and specialists of the motorized rifle regiment were determined.

BMP-3 is a combat armored tracked amphibious vehicle designed to transport personnel to the front edge, increase their mobility, armament and security on the battlefield in conditions of the use of nuclear weapons and joint actions with tanks in battle.
