At the forthcoming exercise of the Collective Rapid Reaction Force of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) in Tajikistan, Russian servicemen will use RPO-A PDM high-range and high-power jet infantry flamethrowers-aerosols. These flamethrowers entered service with the 201st military base in August 2021.

During the active phase of the exercise, flamethrower subunits in mountain-desert conditions will ensure the actions of motorized riflemen in the offensive. Flamethrowers will fire at targets imitating small groups of an illegal armed formation hiding in rock caves, as well as its long-term firing points at ranges of up to 800 m.

Earlier, the commander of the Central Military District, Colonel-General Alexander Lapin, said that in October, in Tajikistan, near the border with Afghanistan, three joint exercises with the military contingents of the CSTO member states will be held: “Interaction”, “Search” and “Echelon”.
