Ships and vessels of the Arctic grouping: the large anti-submarine ship (BOD) “Severomorsk”, the large landing ship (BDK) “Georgy Pobedonosets”, the rescue tugboat (SBS) “Pamir” and the large sea tanker (BMT) “Sergey Osipov” – completed tasks of the tenth campaign on the seas of the Arctic Ocean.

The tanker “Sergei Osipov” and the rescue tug “Pamir” arrived at the main base of the fleet – Severomorsk. The large landing ship “George the Victorious” unloaded the equipment and personnel of the marines in the Pechenga Bay and, together with the large anti-submarine ship “Severomorsk”, operates in the Barents Sea according to the combat training plan of the fleet.

The meeting of warships and the solemn ceremony of welcoming and rewarding the participants of the anniversary Arctic campaign under the leadership of the Commander of the Northern Fleet, Hero of Russia, Admiral Alexander Moiseyev, will take place tomorrow.

The Arctic cruise of the grouping of ships and vessels of the Northern Fleet began on August 10 with a departure from the city of Severomorsk. In two months, ships and support vessels of the Northern Fleet passed 12 thousand nautical miles, took part in a number of exercises that took place in the waters of the Barents and Kara Seas and in the Laptev Sea, as well as in the port of Dudinka (Taimyr Peninsula) and in the area of ​​the Yakut village of Tiksi.

The Severomors operated in difficult ice conditions in the area of ​​the islands of the Franz Josef Land, Novaya and Severnaya Zemlya archipelagoes. The Vilkitsky Strait separating the Kara Sea and the Laptev Sea passed independently without icebreaker assistance.
