At the Serbian airbase Batainitsa, the joint Russian-Serbian air defense group successfully repelled a massive air strike from a mock enemy as part of the Slavic Shield 2021 air defense exercise.

The units of the anti-aircraft missile forces of the Russian Aerospace Forces and the Air Defense Forces of the Air Force and Air Defense of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Serbia were put on alert 17 times during the joint exercise to detect and track air targets.

In total, as part of the tasks of covering the protected area and repelling massive air strikes, more than 40 air targets of a simulated air enemy were discovered, the role of which was performed by planes and helicopters of the Serbian Air Force. In a difficult jamming environment, the air defense systems of the joint group timely detected and destroyed all air targets with simulated launches of anti-aircraft missile systems.

The crews involved in the joint Russian-Serbian exercises and deployed in potentially dangerous areas continue to carry out round-the-clock joint combat duty for the air defense of Belgrade, the Batainitsa airbase and the central industrial region of Serbia.
