Five thousand people can get vaccinated at the vaccination center in GUM every day.

Five million people have been vaccinated against COVID-19 since the start of the vaccination campaign. The revaccination, recommended six months after vaccination, was attended by 279 thousand people. Sergei Sobyaninexamined the vaccination center, which was reopened in GUM in early October, and the rapid testing point for the antigen of the causative agent of the new coronavirus infection.

“In Moscow, unfortunately, there is a significant increase in the incidence of covid – an increase of 20-30 percent per week. These are very high rates. In addition to complying with sanitary rules, there are two more areas for the prevention and control of covid – timely mass testing in order to identify the sick person in time, ensure his isolation and timely treatment, and, of course, this is vaccination, ”Sergei Sobyanin said.

The vaccination center in GUM is open daily from 10:00 to 21:00. Specialists can vaccinate up to 32 patients at the same time, the total capacity of the center is five thousand people a day.

Vaccinations are provided by three doctors and 32 nurses from city polyclinics. They are assisted by 32 employees of the My Documents centers of public services and 40 administrators. They meet visitors at the entrance, inform about the stages of vaccination, help in filling out the documents and escort them to the doctor for examination.

“Anyone can come and be vaccinated without restrictions. Here you can also get revaccinated with Sputnik Light. And here, in GUM, an express test is carried out, ”added the Mayor of Moscow. During his visit, Sergei Sobyanin himself underwent rapid testing for an antigen to coronavirus.

According to him, express tests appeared almost simultaneously with classical PCR tests, but their quality left much to be desired. By the middle of this year, it has reached a new level – such tests are now 80 percent effective. And with a positive test for an antigen to coronavirus, a person is immediately carried out a PCR test.

“Mass express testing is starting to spread in all European countries. Moscow is also participating in this experiment. Today we have opened 20 points in the MFC, in shopping centers, and from the 18th, another 30 will be opened in such a way as to cover the population on a large scale. The detection rate of carriers of the virus is also quite decent – about four percent. This is generally a high percentage for any testing. And I hope this will be an effective way to prevent the spread of covid, ”Sergei Sobyanin said.

He once again invited Muscovites to be vaccinated. “Today there is no other way to protect yourself from this misfortune. This is especially important, of course, for the elderly. We give representatives of the older generation a gift box or, as an option, 10 thousand rubles at their request – also, it seems to me, a good incentive. But the most important incentive, of course, is to protect your health and life, ”the Moscow Mayor said.

Another incentive to get vaccinated is a new raffle of valuable prizes. “Starting Monday, for five weeks, we are giving away 10 apartments – two apartments a week. So some may want to go and get vaccinated again, ”added Sergei Sobyanin.

The work of the vaccination center in GUM is supervised by Andrey Tyazhelnikov, chief freelance specialist in primary health care for the adult population, chief physician of the consultative and diagnostic polyclinic No. 121. According to him, rapid testing plays an important role in preventing the transmission of infection. “People who suspect nothing, just walk, shop, on Red Square, can be tested. Indeed, if suddenly they are carriers, then, accordingly, they find themselves on self-isolation until the confirmation of the absence of the disease by a PCR test, ”said the doctor. He added that it takes no more than 10-15 minutes to fill out the questionnaire, the procedure itself and wait for the result.

At the vaccination point, all epidemiological safety rules are observed. To store the vaccine, eight freezers have been installed, warehouses for personal protective equipment, napkins, and disinfectants have been equipped.

The streams of visitors are bred in such a way that there are no intersections, and the vaccination process itself takes place as quickly and efficiently as possible. For this, special markings are applied. The space is divided into three zones – waiting, filling out documents (informed consent and a questionnaire), doctor’s examination and vaccination.

Vaccination is carried out with a two-component vaccine “Sputnik V” (Gam-Covid-Vac), developed by the National Research Center for Epidemiology and Microbiology named after N.F. Gamalei. Vaccination is done in two stages – the second component of the vaccine is administered three weeks after the first. For the first stage of vaccination at GUM, a preliminary registration is not required. The doctor will schedule the second shot on the day of the first injection. A day before the re-vaccination, an SMS will come with a reminder. It will indicate the date, time and address of the vaccination site.

Also, in the vaccination center, you can undergo revaccination with the one-component “Sputnik Light”.

To get vaccinated, you need to bring your passport and compulsory medical insurance policy (if any). Be sure to indicate your phone number, which will receive a QR code after the introduction of the second component of the vaccine. In addition, you will be asked to indicate SNILS – this is necessary in order to receive a QR code on public services portal.

There are about 300 vaccination centers in the capital. They are organized on the basis of city polyclinics (100 vaccination centers), in the centers of public services “My Documents” (7 centers), private clinics (154), shopping centers (12) and other popular urban places where mobile teams work.

In addition, from October 11, 2021, you can take a free express test for COVID-19 at GUM. The capacity is up to 440 people per day. At the moment, 876 people have done express tests, of which 33 tested positive.
