MIL OSI Translation. Region: Russian Federation –
Russian-Armenian interregional forums have been held since 2011. The task of the forums is to facilitate the identification of promising areas of cooperation and the establishment of new ties between Russia and Armenia at the regional level. The speech of the Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Alexey Overchuk was held in the format of a video message.
From the transcript:
A. Overchuk: Good afternoon, dear colleagues!
I am glad to welcome the participants and guests of the VIII Russian-Armenian Interregional Forum. The first meeting of the heads of the regions of our countries was held in April 2011, and over the years the forums have proved their importance and effectiveness. Representatives of Russian regions, business and expert circles arrived in Yerevan from Russia, which once again emphasizes the close, allied nature of relations. Our countries and peoples are linked by friendship and a common centuries-old history.
Russia and Armenia have every opportunity for the sustainable and dynamic development of multifaceted interaction both in the trade, economic and humanitarian fields, and in the implementation of large-scale infrastructure projects. Interregional cooperation makes a great contribution to this work.
Today’s event is a unique dialogue platform that allows state and public figures, business and humanitarian representatives to synchronize watches on the entire spectrum of topics of mutual interest, including in the context of Eurasian integration.
Russia and Armenia are confidently following this path. Together with colleagues from Belarus, Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan, we are creating common markets with a favorable environment for the development of entrepreneurship in various fields, which are designed to reach more than 182 million citizens of the member states of the union.
I am confident that, within the framework of the Eurasian Economic Union, we will jointly move consistently along the path of development of our integration association in order to provide conditions for the stable development of the economies of our states in the interests of improving the living standards of our people.
Taking into account the need to “build bridges” between regions as a strategic task, the Program of Interregional Cooperation for 2022–2027 has been prepared.
I am convinced that the further cooperation of Armenia with the regions of Russia will have a powerful multiplier effect, allow us to unleash our macroeconomic potential and serve for the benefit of the peoples of our fraternal countries, and the agreements reached within the framework of the forum will allow us to reach a qualitatively new level of interaction on the entire range of issues of our dialogue.
In conclusion, I would like to thank the participants and organizers of the event and wish you success in our joint work.
