During the year, 55 foundations have joined the capital’s charitable service.
A year ago, in mid-October 2020, mos.ru appeared on the mos.ru portal service, which changed the idea of charity… Helping foundations is now as easy as paying utility bills, for example. You can transfer money in a few clicks, and the minimum amount is 50 rubles. From month to month, the project is becoming more and more popular: new partner organizations and users are joining it. The results of the service for the year were summed up today during an online meeting Natalia Sergunina, Deputy Mayor of Moscow, and representatives of the city’s charitable community.
“55 organizations have already become partners of the charity service. When we first launched this digital platform, Muscovites could help the wards of six foundations. Over the year, their number has grown by almost 10 times. The number of donations sent to him now exceeds 30 thousand. We see that this format is convenient and in demand. I would also like to note the educational function of the service: foundations have the opportunity to tell a wide audience about their programs, and people get to know more closely those who help others, ”said Natalya Sergunina.
The metropolitan charity service is the first such digital project in the world created by the state. Its effectiveness was highly appreciated by Russian and foreign experts; for a year of work, it has already received several significant awards.
So, in January 2021, the charity service became the laureate of the international award Big Innovation Awards… It is awarded annually to organizations and people implementing innovative solutions that have a great impact on society. In May he received the German Innovation Award, and in June he received two Russian awards at once, becoming the best social project in Russia, as well as a laureate of the CIPR Digital award in the category “Best Digital Service”… In September, the service was awarded the Communitas Awards in the nomination Community Service Leadership.
The initiative to create the service was made by socially oriented non-profit organizations. They proposed to launch a project that would allow people to participate in charitable programs. The city supported the idea – the capital Department of Information Technology and Public Relations and Youth Policy Committee with the support of the Public Chamber of Moscow.
The main advantage of the service is that it enables people to easily and simply help those in need. At the same time, benefactors can be sure that the transferred amount will reach the addressee. And foundations get the opportunity to tell about their work and find funds for the implementation of significant programs.
Over the year, the service has united more than 13.9 thousand unique users. The average amount of one transfer is about 300 rubles.
The project page contains cards of all participants. Foundations such as “House with a lighthouse”, “Without barriers”, “Life is like a miracle”, organization Doctor Lisa’s Fair Help… Each has its own page with a description, goals, programs and information on what donations were spent on. Once a quarter on the site “Soulful Moscow” a full report of the funds appears.
To become a partner, the foundation must conduct socially significant activities in the capital for over a year and be on the register of charitable organizations in Moscow. The procedure for connecting to the service is as open as possible. There is even training courseto help you become a member in six steps.
Each person who made a donation regularly receives letters in which they tell about the results of the service. From them you can find out about the total amount of transfers, as well as the history of those who received support. For example, a fund “Ship” helped six of his charges. One of them is four-year-old Victoria, who suffers from epilepsy. The girl was paid for a genetic study that will help to establish the cause of the attacks and find an effective treatment.
Rusfond donated money for the treatment of a child with congenital leg pathology, which led to severe lameness. Six-year-old Ivan had his feet put in plaster, fixing them in the correct position. In a couple of months, the surgeons will perform the operation, and the boy will wear orthopedic shoes until he fully recovers.
Center for Curative Pedagogy with donations, he bought toys, board games and books for children with autism, epilepsy and intellectual disabilities. New materials helped the young Fedya, who was diagnosed with developmental disorders and hearing loss, to regain interest in classes and continue his rehabilitation.
Thanks to the collected funds, the fund “Love Syndrome” organized a trip to international competitions for Alexander. The young man is 20 years old, he has Down syndrome, but this does not prevent him from winning medals in swimming competitions. Thanks to the amount collected, Alexander was able to compete at the Trisom Games (an analogue of the Olympics for people with Down syndrome).
Who else do Muscovites help
The users of the service also support funds for helping animals. For part of the funds received, the fund “Dogs who love” arranged for a 10-year-old dog named Dana to be examined by a therapist and oncologist. She was diagnosed correctly and had a successful operation. Now she is on the mend. Dana was at home, but when she fell ill, the owners took her to an orphanage. During the treatment, a volunteer met Dana, who decided to take the dog to him. Now she will have a new home and a loving family.
Fund for Assistance to Homeless Animals “Nika” donations helped to equip the Wet Nose multifunctional center. About 500 tetrapods live and wait for new owners in it. And the fund “Catgirls” bought syringe infusion pumps for the Iskra shelter – devices for long-term dosed and controlled administration of solutions, drugs, nutrients to animals. These products will enable volunteers and shelter staff to help even more sick pets.
How to support trust foundations
In 2020, a program to stimulate consumer demand was launched in Moscow for the first time “Million Prizes”… Muscovites had the opportunity to send the points they won, including to charity – they provided a corresponding option in the Active Citizen project rewards store. In the future, several more similar actions were organized.
The total amount of donations made by members of the Million Prizes program and users of the mos.ru charity service has already exceeded 80 million rubles.
Donate to a charity service
Any person who uses city services and services can become a benefactor. There are several ways. The first is to open funds section, select one of them, specify the amount and click on the “Help” button. You can click on one of the most popular amounts (50, 100 or 500 rubles), or you can enter your own version (the “Other amount” button). You can also make a translation in the section “My payments”where many Muscovites pay utility bills. At the bottom of the list of accounts there is a line with the name of the “Charity” payment. You just need to select a program or participant and indicate the amount of the transfer. The service is also available in the special projects section on mos.ru. A separate page has been created for each fund.
As people increasingly use mobile gadgets, in June the charity service was connected to the city app “My Moscow”… In the “My Payments” section, under the list of accounts, there is a “Charity with mos.ru” block with a “Help” button. You can make a payment by clicking on the organization card.
Work on the project continues – the service is being improved for the convenience of users. Those who would like to help constantly are offered to enable auto payment on a schedule. This option appeared in the spring. It can be used immediately after the first donation. To do this, you need to select the day of the week or month when a certain amount will be debited and assign it.
