Crews of more than 40 ships and boats of the Black Sea Fleet (BSF) took part in a large-scale bilateral exercise with troops (forces) of the Southern Military District at the Opuk training ground in Crimea.
As part of the exercise, the coastal forces of the Black Sea Fleet worked out practical actions in counter-sabotage defense of a section of the coast, as well as in the fight against naval assault groups and naval airborne forces.
According to the legend of the exercise, to capture and hold the landing site, the fire support ships consisting of the cruiser Moskva, the frigate Admiral Grigorovich, the small missile ship Ingushetia, missile ships Naberezhnye Chelny and R-60 suppressed the coastal defenses with unguided jet shells and naval artillery, after which they carried out the release of naval assault groups from high-speed boats and cutters. Simultaneously, on the approach to the landing area, the crews of the aircraft of the operational-tactical and naval aviation of the fleet worked out actions to suppress the anti-amphibious defense with the execution of air strikes against the positions of the “enemy”.
Then the large landing ships (BDK) of the Black Sea Fleet “Saratov”, “Novocherkassk” and “Caesar Kunikov” carried out an amphibious assault landing with equipment on an unequipped section of the coast.
Control of target destruction and adjustment of artillery fire was carried out by unmanned aerial vehicles “Forpost” and “Orlan-10”.
The exercise is carried out according to the general plan and as part of a control check of the troops (forces) of the district for the 2021 academic year under the leadership of the commander of the Southern Military District, Army General Alexander Dvornikov.
