Servicemen of anti-aircraft missile units of the Southern Military District (YuVO) in Karachay-Cherkessia, during a large-scale command and staff exercise (KShU), covered strategically important objects from air strikes by a simulated enemy at ultra-low altitudes.

Having made an earlier march to the designated area, the anti-aircraft gunners worked out the tasks of covering military facilities from a massive missile and bomb strike of a simulated enemy, which the crews of Su-34 fighter-bombers and Su-24M front-line bombers imitated.

Also, the servicemen worked out the tasks of finding, detecting and tracking air targets of a simulated enemy. The main emphasis was placed on the identification and classification of air targets at low (about 400 m) and ultra-low (about 150 m) altitudes.
