At the Opuk interspecific training ground in Crimea, as part of a bilateral brigade tactical exercise (DBrTU), logistics units (MTO) deployed a logistics support area.

At the first stage, the MTO units made a march from the point of permanent deployment to the place of the exercise. According to the plan of the event, the logistics support area was to be deployed in the second echelon of the defending subunits.

At the second stage, MTO specialists completed the deployment of a logistics support area, equipped a field camp for accommodating personnel, a mobile bath and laundry complex, a field bakery, a fuel and lubricants warehouse, as well as a collection point for damaged equipment and a workshop for the repair, restoration and maintenance of combat and special equipment.

During the next stages of the exercise, the personnel worked out a set of tasks to provide the defending troops with fuel and lubricants, ammunition and drinking water, and also conducted training in cooking hot food and baking bread in the field with their subsequent delivery to the front line of defense.

Also, the MTO units worked out the evacuation of damaged equipment and its movement to the collection point for damaged vehicles, with further restoration work.

The exercise was conducted according to the general plan and as part of a control check of the troops (forces) of the district for the 2021 academic year under the leadership of the commander of the Southern Military District, Army General Alexander Dvornikov.

In total, about 8 thousand servicemen were involved in the exercises with the associations and formations of the Southern Military District, about 350 units of weapons and military equipment from the combined-arms armies, air force and air defense formations, formations and units of the combat arms and special forces of district subordination, the forces of the Black Sea Fleet and Caspian flotilla.
