It is planned that by the end of 2023, only modern low-floor trams will operate in the capital.

The 400th Vityaz-Moscow tram entered line 6, which runs from the Sokol metro station to Bratsev. Nine new trams are already running on it. They replaced the previous generation models. Now there are 409 Vityaz-Moscow cars in the capital. This is more than half of the city’s tram fleet. By the end of 2022, 55 more modern three-section trams will appear in Moscow.

“Trams are environmentally friendly and efficient urban transport, one of the most beloved by Muscovites. Four years ago, the first Vityaz-Moskva cars entered the line, and today there are more than 400 such trams operating in the city. On behalf of the Mayor of Moscow, we will continue to replenish the tram fleet with new carriages so that by the end of 2023 only modern low-floor trams, convenient for all passengers, will operate in the capital, ”said the Deputy Moscow Mayor for Transport

Maxim Liksutov.

The cars of the new generation are equipped with everything necessary to make the road as comfortable as possible. Unlike previous models, the new trams have wider aisles and more seats – 70 instead of 60. The low floor makes travel easier for the elderly and people with limited mobility. All cars have a built-in climate control system. They have media screens, USB ports and USB Type-C connectors for charging gadgets, as well as mounts for bicycles and baby strollers.
