The servicemen of the Russian peacekeeping contingent as part of the automobile convoy marched along the route Erebuni airfield, Yerevan, Republic of Armenia to Stepanakert through the Lachin corridor and delivered 10 tons of humanitarian cargo to the residents of Nagorno-Karabakh in need.

“10 tons of humanitarian cargo from Yerevan have been delivered. Shoes, clothes, school supplies, household chemicals, gas stoves, burners, all this will be distributed to refugees, large families, victims and internally displaced persons in Nagorno-Karabakh, ”said Dmitry Tusidi, a representative of the Russian peacekeeping contingent.

As part of the consignment, essential items, demi-season and winter clothes and footwear for children, school and household supplies and means for heating the premises were delivered.

Along the route of the automobile convoy in two directions, security was provided by the crew of the military traffic police and the military personnel of the Russian peacekeeping contingent in the zone of responsibility of seven observation posts at the crossing of the Lachin corridor.

“We accompanied the convoys from the city of Stepanakert to the city of Yerevan and back, the length of this route was more than 800 km. The difficulty of the route was that this route passed through mountainous terrain. The military convoy arrived at the appointed time, at the appointed place without incident, ”said Ivan Sologubov, an officer of the military traffic police.

Also, representatives of charitable foundations of Russia and Armenia, together with the military personnel of the Russian peacekeeping contingent, accompanied the cargo from Yerevan to Stepanakert.

“We thank the Russian peacekeeping forces for the joint productive work and we hope in the future it will continue to be productive as well,” said Alesya Podolskaya, a representative of the charitable foundation.

After collecting and processing information by specialists of the humanitarian response center of the Russian peacekeeping contingent, a humanitarian action will be organized and aid will be transferred to residents of remote settlements near the Nagorno-Karabakh demarcation line.

In accordance with the agreements specified in the joint statement of the President of the Russian Federation, the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia, from 00:00 Moscow time on November 10, 2020, a complete ceasefire and all hostilities in Nagorno-Karabakh were announced.

A peacekeeping contingent of the Russian Federation has been deployed to control the ceasefire and military operations in Nagorno-Karabakh.
