The Marines of the Caspian Flotilla (CFL) eliminated the sabotage and reconnaissance group (DRG) of the simulated enemy in the coastal line of the Caspian Sea as part of a tactical exercise.

During the monitoring of the Dagestan coast of the Caspian Sea using unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), the reconnaissance regiment of the Marine Corps found the landing site of the sabotage and reconnaissance group (DRG) of the mock enemy.

The received information and coordinates were promptly transferred to the command post. By the decision of the commander, a Marine Corps company operating on Mi-8AMTSh “Terminator” helicopters of the army aviation was sent to the indicated area to block and destroy the “enemy” landing.

The Marines carried out an assault landing from a helicopter and immediately eliminated the “enemy” DRG in a fleeting battle.

The exercise is conducted as part of a bilateral command-staff exercise for command and control of the district troops in the South-Western strategic direction under the leadership of the commander of the Southern Military District.

The command post is attended by formations and military units of the Southern Military District, as well as units of military bases deployed in Abkhazia, Armenia, South Ossetia, as well as part of the forces of the Black Sea Fleet, the Caspian Flotilla, which will work out practical actions in the waters of the Black and Caspian Seas.

In total, about 8 thousand servicemen are involved in practical actions at 25 training grounds in the Southern Military District, about 350 units of weapons and military equipment from the combined arms armies, air force and air defense formations, formations and units of the combat arms and special forces of district subordination, the forces of the Black Sea Fleet and the Caspian Flotilla …
