The plenary session of the Eighth Russian-Armenian Interregional Forum, in which the Minister of Economic Development of Russia Maxim Reshetnikov and the Minister of Territorial Development and Infrastructure of Armenia Gnel Sanosyan will take part, will be held in Yerevan on Tuesday.

Within the framework of the forum, a business mission of the Russian Export Center is being held with the participation of Russian-Armenian entrepreneurs. During Tuesday and Wednesday, it is planned to hold negotiations between the companies of the two countries within the framework of the Intersectoral Business Mission to Armenia.

At the forum, special attention is paid to joint measures to intensify trade and investment cooperation in order to improve the well-being of the population of Russia and Armenia. It is planned to discuss solutions aimed at creating favorable conditions for doing business and accelerating economic growth of the two countries after the recession amid the coronavirus pandemic. A panel discussion “Development of economic cooperation and partnership – new opportunities for interaction between the businesses of the two countries” will take place on Tuesday.

A series of round tables on the development of Russian-Armenian cooperation in the field of economy, industry, education and cultural and historical tourism were held at the forum on Monday. Heads of regions of Russia and Armenia, representatives of relevant ministries and departments, the Eurasian Economic Union, executive and legislative bodies, public organizations, business and expert communities are invited to participate in the parallel sessions.

The organizers of the forum are the Ministry of Economic Development of the Russian Federation and the Ministry of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure of the Republic of Armenia.

Russian-Armenian interregional forums have been held since 2011 with the aim of expanding cooperation between the territorial units of the two states. High-ranking representatives of Russia and Armenia have repeatedly called this event a manifestation of the Armenian-Russian allied relations and an effective tool for interregional development.
