More than 122 thousand Muscovites voted for this option.

Voting participants in the project “Active citizen” chose the name for the new station of the Moscow Central Diameters (MCD) near the Leningradsky, Kazansky and Yaroslavsky railway stations. The majority voted for the option “Square of Three Stations”. Sergei Sobyanin announced this in his account on the social network. “In contact with”.

More than 122 thousand Muscovites (52 percent of voting participants) voted for the option “Square of Three Stations”. The name “Kalanchevskaya” was liked by over 92 thousand residents (39 percent). More than 21 thousand (nine percent) users entrusted their choice to specialists. In total, over 235 thousand people took part in the voting.

“Most of the Muscovites supported the name“ Three Stations Square ”. And this is the name the new station will receive after it opens in 2023. It will receive MCD-2 trains and, in the future, MCD-4 trains. The area of the hub will exceed 4.5 thousand square meters, and by 2024 the passenger traffic here will grow to 32 thousand people a day, ”he said.

Maxim Liksutov, Deputy Mayor of Moscow for Transport.

The name “Square of Three Stations” was proposed by students of the Russian University of Transport and residents of the Krasnoselsky district. The Kalanchevskaya variant corresponds to the name of the old platform.

“Such a distribution of votes is not surprising, since residents and guests of the city have long assigned Komsomolskaya Square the unofficial name” Three Stations Square ” for the development of the “Active Citizen” project.

Now, one of the largest transport hubs in the Central District is being built near the square where three stations of the capital are located – Leningradsky, Kazansky and Yaroslavsky. In place of the old platform, a new city station will appear, which will receive MCD-2 and MCD-4 trains.

At the MCD station, the name for which Muscovites chose, one platform has already been built. It accepts MCD-2 trains. A platform for MCD-4 trains will be ready by 2023. The passenger terminal will be located at ground level under the flyover.

At the same time, the new transport hub will meet all modern standards approved by the city Department of Transport and Road Infrastructure Development, To which passengers of the Moscow Central Diameters are accustomed. Sheds will appear on both platforms to protect passengers from bad weather, terminals will be equipped with ticket offices, elevators, escalators, LED lighting and toilet rooms. The appearance of the station will be made in the style of the square of three stations – the architects have chosen the appropriate solutions and colors.
