At present, the group’s efforts are focused on extinguishing the remaining 2 large and 4 minor foci of decay. In a round-the-clock mode, watering of the smoldering centers is carried out with an uninterrupted supply of water from natural water sources by the Shkval complex of the Noginsk Rescue Center of the EMERCOM of Russia and fire pumping stations.

Additional main lines are being laid to supply water to all centers of decay. Extinguishing individual foci is carried out with the help of special peat trunks, which allow water to be supplied into the mass of smoldering peat. Over the entire period of extinguishing, more than 50 million liters of water were supplied to the fires. The foci at the surface are dug up with an entrenching tool and spilled with hand fire nozzles. Engineering equipment is also used for extinguishing: excavators dig trenches, where water is supplied to eliminate smoldering at a depth. Improvement of roads in peat fields for the access of fire trucks continues.

In total, 271 people and 113 pieces of equipment are involved in the elimination of decay.
