In 1602 military clinical hospital of the Southern Military District (YuVO), stationed in Rostov-on-Don and its branch in Novocherkassk, 80 beds are equipped for inpatient treatment of seriously ill patients with a new coronavirus infection (NKVI) COVID-19 from among the civilians of the Rostov region.
Medical institutions of the Southern Military District are equipped with the necessary modern medical equipment: ventilators, computed tomographs, extracorporeal membrane oxygenation devices, monitors for intensive observation of patients, X-ray and ultrasound equipment.
At the moment, more than 90 civilian patients are being treated by military doctors of 1602 OVKG. According to official information from the hospital administration, the vast majority of sick citizens have not previously been vaccinated against NKVI.
“We have to deal with patients who are suffering from severe coronavirus infection COVID-19, they all need intensive therapy for a long time,” said the head of the hospital, Colonel of the Medical Service Valery Kokoev. “Among the critically ill, there was not a single one who was vaccinated,” added the honored military doctor.
Earlier, the head of the medical service of the Southern Military District, Colonel of the Medical Service Sergo Papko, noted that “after the vaccination, the incidence rate in the troops decreased by more than 85 percent, and the course of the disease itself passes mainly in mild forms, like an acute respiratory infection.”
Today, in comparison with most of the subjects on the territory of which the Southern Military District is located, the difference in the incidence rate with the civilian population reaches 95 percent.
In the troops of the Southern Military District, a planned revaccination of previously vaccinated military personnel, their family members and civilian personnel of military units and institutions of the RF Ministry of Defense has been organized. In total, more than 52 thousand military personnel of the district were revaccinated.
