A scientific and practical course was held at the departments of topographic anatomy and operative surgery of the Military Medical Academy, in which cosmetologists worked out new techniques and algorithms on the face to achieve maximum results.

The event was opened by the head of the Department of Operative Surgery, Professor Nikolai Fomin. He spoke about the history of topographic anatomy and gave the course participants a tour of the Museum of Medical Instruments. Nikolai Fomin noted that today, thanks to the development of technology, doctors continue the ideas of the great surgeon Nikolai Pirogov, who combined surgery and anatomy in one hand.

“Clinical anatomy is today. Today, completely different possibilities, you can learn about anatomical formations
with the help of radiation studies, and if an operation is needed, reconstruct the version on a 3D printer and work out the operation on a human model. These are unique opportunities, ”Nikolai Fomin said.

During the round table, the speakers of the course, together with the participants, discussed the topic of the practical anatomy of a cosmetologist.

The practical part for the doctors was conducted by the clinical anatomist, assistant of the St. acad. I.P. Pavlov and North-Western State Medical University named after I.P. I. I. Mechnikova Tatiana Ovcharenko.

Before starting the practice, Tatyana Ovcharenko discussed with the course participants the entire anatomy of the upper, lower third of the face, with an emphasis on the moments of the danger zone, which are important for cosmetologists.

Each group had its own biomaterial, which needed to be transformed using experimental solutions. At the end of the work, the groups defended their result and explained why they chose this or that technique.

“This event is very necessary because doctors can put their hands here. Due to the fact that there is little biological material in Russia, doctors do not have such an opportunity during their residency training, and it is important to attend such events at least once a year. Doctors try new techniques, master new ones, and everyone is happy, ”said Tatyana Ovcharenko.
