A unique portable radio station of 1952 release R-105D, which became the prototype of modern unified radio communication systems, was presented to the museum of the command brigade of the combined arms army of the Western Military District in the Voronezh region on the Day of the military signalman.

The radio station R-105D, presented during the ceremony, is the first serial prototype that entered the troops after testing at the Scientific Research and Testing Institute of Communications of the USSR Ground Forces. In this model, for the first time, a system of search-free, tuningless communication, operating on ultrashort waves, was implemented, providing control in the tactical link.

Received as a gift, a sample of the first serial portable radio station will be included in the museum’s exposition, which presents the history of the development of communication means, starting from the beginning of the Great Patriotic War.

To date, within the framework of the State Defense Order, portable radio stations of the sixth generation “Azart” continue to be supplied to the troops of the Western Military District in large quantities. They are provided with noise intelligence and are capable of operating in the temperature range from -50 to +50 degrees, and also receive not only radio signals, but also text files, maps, cipher codes, and determine coordinates using the GLONASS system.
