In total, there are 60 categories of beneficiaries in the city.

In Moscow, about four million people receive material assistance to pay for housing and communal services (HCS). This was announced by the Deputy Mayor of Moscow for Housing and Communal Services and Improvement Peter Biryukov.

“The city authorities provide regular and comprehensive support to low-income families, including benefits and subsidies for housing and communal services. Today this measure of social support is used by about four million Muscovites, most of them are pensioners and people with disabilities, unemployed people, single mothers, large families, students receive subsidies and benefits for housing and utility payments, ”he said.

Two types of assistance are provided for paying for housing and communal services – benefits and subsidies, the deputy mayor added.

“A privilege is a discount on payment for services, it is assigned to a citizen for a long time, for example, until the youngest child from a large family turns 16 or 18, or for life, for example, for a war veteran or disabled person. In total, there are 60 categories of beneficiaries in Moscow, ”he said.

The subsidies are received by families who spend more than 10 percent of their total income on utility bills. Payments are provided for six months. Earlier, after the expiration of this period, the applicant had to present documents confirming the absence of arrears and confirm the level of family income. Since January 1 of this year, the procedure for obtaining a subsidy has been simplified, the information necessary for its extension is now received by government agencies through the system of interdepartmental electronic interaction. It is enough for the beneficiary to submit the application on time.
