The environmental unit, formed from the military personnel of the Troops and Forces in the North-East of Russia, collected more than 450 tons of household and household waste during the cleaning of Wrangel Island in the Arctic.

At the direction of the leadership of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation, such work has been carried out on Wrangel Island for several years. This year the expedition has been working since August and has already ended due to the formation of snow and ice cover.

The garbage collected by the military was loaded onto a special vessel, which made the transition to the designated port for subsequent disposal of the waste.

More than 50 military personnel and about 10 pieces of equipment were involved in the environmental campaign. As part of the environmental division, cranes with a lifting capacity of 25 and 40 tons, scrap trucks based on a KamAZ vehicle with a crane-manipulator, dump trucks, tracked conveyors, a bulldozer, a tanker and baling presses were involved.

The expedition took place in difficult weather and navigation conditions, the personnel successfully coped with the task in the Arctic latitudes.
