In the south of Yekaterinburg, two outbreaks continue to operate on a total area of 1.9 hectares. Work is underway to water the fires with the use of the Shkval pumping and hose complex of the Noginsk Rescue Center of the EMERCOM of Russia. In a round-the-clock mode, water is supplied to the smoldering area from nearby reservoirs. In total, more than 415 people and 130 units of special equipment are involved in extinguishing the smoldering peat bog.

The peat bog smoldering for several days caused smoke in the capital of the Middle Urals. Thanks to the efforts of EMERCOM employees, the area and intensity of peat smoldering have significantly decreased, and the smoke no longer interferes with Yekaterinburg residents to breathe freely.

The caring residents of the city and representatives of the All-Russian Popular Front came to thank the firefighters for their hard work. The fire-fighters were given drinking water and biscuits so that in the rare moments of rest they could quench their thirst and refresh themselves between meals. The visit of the townspeople was a pleasant surprise for the EMERCOM of Russia employees. The firefighters assured the guests that they were doing everything possible so that the haze with the smell of burning would no longer interfere with their hometown to breathe deeply.
