Due to the strong wind raging in the Kaliningrad region, during the last 24 hours a storm continued in the Baltic Sea, the wind strength was up to 25 m / s, the sea agitation reached 5 points, the wave height on the coast exceeded 4.5 meters.

Based on the weather forecast provided by the Baltic Fleet’s hydrometeorological center, the combat training plan for fleet formations and units was adjusted, the conditions for anchorage of ships at berthing facilities were changed, taking into account the strength and direction of the wind, tugs were assigned and prepared for immediate operation. According to the instructions, the watch duty was strengthened, the ships were sealed and the upper decks equipment was secured in a storm-like manner, the emergency crews were put on high alert.

All ships and vessels of the Baltic Fleet met the impending storm at their regular berths. The ships carrying out missions in the Baltic Sea were warned in advance about the impending storm and returned to the base.

According to the estimates of the command, the forces of the fleet were timely prepared for the strike of the elements. Stormy weather did not affect the combat readiness of the formations and military units of the Baltic Fleet, the duty forces of the fleet served as normal. At the facilities of the fleet located in areas where the power supply was turned off, power supply was carried out using stationary and mobile diesel generators.
