In the near Moscow region, 15 air pollution control stations have been installed. They have already started work, said the Deputy Mayor of Moscow for Housing and Utilities and Improvement Peter Biryukov

“As part of the creation of a unified environmental monitoring system for Moscow and the Moscow Region, 15 automatic air pollution control stations have been installed in the Moscow region at the expense of Moscow. As of today, all of them have been commissioned and started to work, ”the deputy mayor said.

New air pollution control stations were installed in Balashikha, Dzerzhinsky, Dolgoprudny, Krasnogorsk, Lyubertsy, Mytishchi, Odintsovo, Pavlovsky Posad, Podolsk, Khimki, Shchelkovo and the village of Leninsky. They will allow monitoring large industrial facilities in the Moscow Region and the occurrence of forest and peat fires.

“The systems are able to monitor the content of suspended particles in the air with a size of less than 2.5 micrometers. They are recognized by the World Health Organization as one of the most dangerous pollutants. The creation of a unified system will ensure the comparability of environmental monitoring data in Moscow and the region, prevent the emergence of conflicting information about environmental pollution, “added Pyotr Biryukov.

Each station is equipped with high-precision equipment to control the content of carbon monoxide, nitrogen oxide and dioxide, the amount of hydrocarbon compounds and hydrogen sulfide.
