Combat ships of the Russian Navy and the naval forces of the People’s Republic of China from October 17 to 23, 2021 for the first time conducted joint patrols in the western part of the Pacific Ocean.

As part of a joint detachment of 10 ships, the Russian Federation was represented by the forces of the Pacific Fleet – the Marshal Krylov measuring complex ship, the large anti-submarine ships Admiral Tributs and Admiral Panteleev, as well as project 20380 corvettes “Hero of the Russian Federation Aldar Tsydenzhapov” and “ Loud”.

From the naval forces of the People’s Liberation Army of China (PLA), the destroyers Kun Ming and Nan Chang, the corvettes Bin Zhou and Liu Zhou, as well as the integrated supply ship Dun Ping Hu were involved.

The tasks of the patrol were to demonstrate the state flags of Russia and China, maintain peace and stability in the Asia-Pacific region, as well as protect the objects of maritime economic activity of the two countries.

As part of the patrol, the grouping of ships crossed the Sangar Strait for the first time. The sailors of Russia and China worked out joint tactical maneuvering and conducted a number of trainings.

In total, during the practical actions, the ships covered over 1,700 nautical miles.

Earlier, a bilateral Russian-Chinese naval exercise “Maritime Interaction-2021” was held in the Sea of ​​Japan.
