For seedlings, pits with fertile soil and a drainage layer will be prepared in advance.
More than 16 thousand plants will be planted on the streets of the capital and along the outgoing highways this fall. This was announced by the Deputy Mayor of Moscow for Housing and Communal Services and Improvement Peter Biryukov.
“Almost 2.3 thousand large trees and more than 14 thousand shrubs are planned to be planted along the outbound highways and on eight streets. Adult lindens, rowan trees, maples, lilacs will decorate Altufevskoe highway, Milashenkova street, Lomonosovsky, Michurinsky, Balaklavsky and Leningradsky avenues, Leningradskoe highway, Bolshaya Cherkizovskaya street and Lefortovo TPU, ”the deputy mayor noted.
Planting trees and shrubs is one of the most important areas of creating a comfortable urban environment. “Greening of public spaces plays a huge role for cities, especially for such a huge metropolis as Moscow,” stressed Pyotr Biryukov. – Green spaces purify the air, protect from street noise and road dust, create shade and coolness on hot days. Any territory becomes more comfortable and cozy when trees, shrubs and flowers are planted there. “
The largest number of trees will appear on Leningradsky Prospekt – over 800. Together with Leningradskoye Highway, it will become the absolute leader in the number and diversity of plant species.
The head of the municipal economy complex explained that the seedlings for decorating the capital are selected so that they can easily adapt to the difficult conditions of the metropolis and fit into the overall appearance of the streets. Mature trees are planted: their age is from 10 to 20 years, and the height is from three to seven meters.
For seedlings, pits are prepared in advance with fertile soil and a drainage layer that protects the roots from decay and provides the necessary ventilation. If the plant for some reason does not take root, then the contractor will replace it within the framework of the warranty.
