Technopolis “ERA” hosted the 1st All-Russian scientific and technical conference “State and prospects for the development of modern science in the direction of” Hydrometeorological (meteorological) and geophysical support “.

The conference was opened by the Acting Deputy Head of the Technopolis for Scientific and Educational Activities, Candidate of Technical Sciences, Lieutenant Colonel Evgeny Nazarov. He greeted the participants of the event, drew attention to the relevance of the topic of the conference and such an important aspect as timely and fully accessible hydrometeorological and geophysical support of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, high-quality accounting of data on the actual and expected state of the hydrometeorological situation and increasing the effectiveness of hostilities, promoting the hidden deployment of troops and sudden use of weapons.

The event participants were also greeted by the head of the Hydrometeorological Service of the Russian Federation, Colonel Vladimir Udrish and Colonel Yuri Ershov from the Main Directorate of Research Activities.

There were 20 speakers at the conference. One of them is Valery Stepanov, Honorary Worker of the Hydrometeorological Service of the Russian Federation, Doctor of Technical Sciences, Associate Professor, Chief Researcher of the Arctic and Antarctic Research Institute, St. Petersburg. In his speech, he outlined the history of the development of modern models of the life cycle of extratropical cyclones. In particular, he presented a circulation dipole model describing the life cycle of a system of simultaneously forming cyclones and anticyclones, which can be applied in the circumpolar region. Preliminary data processing images obtained from the “Arktika-M” spacecraft show that the application of the technology model is promising.

During the conference, the participants discussed new scientific and technical solutions, shared with colleagues their experience in finding partners in the development of weapons and military equipment in the direction of hydrometeorology and geophysics of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation. We discussed the further development and effectiveness of the use of air, sea and land-based hydrometeorological and geophysical military complexes.
