Social services in Moscow will continue to deliver technical means of rehabilitation to elderly Muscovites at home. “Employees of social protection continue to provide support to Muscovites. Thus, we continue to help people of the older generation with disabilities receive technical means of rehabilitation without leaving their homes, ”he said.

Technical means of rehabilitation for Muscovites over 60 years old are issued Resource Center for the Disabled and territorial social service centers. Social security officers bring wheelchairs, canes, walkers, supports and absorbent underwear prescribed in an individual rehabilitation or habilitation program. They also help you figure out how to use these tools.

Employees of social service centers can come to a person’s home to accept an application for the provision of rehabilitation means and their delivery. In addition, they will help to draw up documents for compensation for independently purchased rehabilitation means, as well as an application for the manufacture of prostheses and orthopedic products.

High-tech and children’s rehabilitation means are delivered by the staff of the Resource Center for the Disabled.

This year, more than 200 thousand Muscovites with disabilities received the necessary technical means of rehabilitation. About 60 thousand more people bought them on their own and issued compensation. For nine months, the Resource Center has provided home services to about 460 Muscovites of the older generation. 260 people received rehabilitation means, and more than 200 received medical and technical examination services. This examination establishes whether it is possible to continue to use the means of rehabilitation or whether it is necessary to repair and even replace them.
