In the anti-aircraft missile regiment of the army corps of the Baltic Fleet, during the combat firing at the Kapustin Yar range, a unit was selected, which was given the name “Shock”.

At the beginning of October, the crews of the Tor-M2 anti-aircraft missile systems of the air defense regiment stationed in the Kaliningrad region, at the Kapustin Yar training ground (Astrakhan region), carried out live firing of anti-aircraft missiles.

In the course of combat work, the crews of the complexes destroyed more than twenty high-speed maneuvering targets of the “Saman” type launched from different directions and flying at minimum and maximum altitudes. In particular, seven targets were destroyed by a direct hit from missile warheads, the rest were hit by their fragments. More than 20 launches of combat missiles have been carried out.

As a result of the exercises, the soldiers of the second anti-aircraft missile battery demonstrated their coordination in the detection, tracking and destruction of air targets best of all. In total, during the firing, the battery destroyed 7 targets of the “Saman” type.

The division of the anti-aircraft missile battery was presented by the commission to the rank of “Shock”.
