I cordially greet the organizers and participants of the XII Yalta International Conference.

Over its more than ten-year history, the forum has established itself as a popular discussion platform that brings together authoritative representatives of the socio-political and expert-academic circles, as well as the media from Russia and a number of foreign countries. Your work aimed at comprehensive understanding of complex international processes deserves support.

I am pleased to state that the agenda of this meeting is traditionally rich. It is necessary to discuss a wide range of topical problems of our time, influencing the situation in the post-Soviet space – from ensuring international information security to the situation around Afghanistan.

In the focus of your attention are such important historical dates as the 80th anniversary of the beginning of the Great Patriotic War and the 30th anniversary of the collapse of the USSR and the creation of the CIS. The depoliticized discussion of the pages of the past serves as a reliable insurance against the emergence of discrepancies in the understanding of common history.

I am convinced that the conference will be held, as usual, in a comradely manner, and will allow its participants to establish mutually beneficial contacts. And, of course, to appreciate all the beauty and hospitality of the Russian Crimea.

I wish you fruitful discussions and all the best.
