Specialists of the medical unit of the Russian peacekeeping contingent in Nagorno-Karabakh carried out a set of preventive measures against the spread of the new coronavirus infection COVID-2019.

In the Russian peacekeeping contingent, the revaccination of peacekeepers with a two-component vaccine “Gam-COVID-Vac” (“Sputnik V”) continues as planned.

“Three weeks ago I made the first component, today I arrived in order to deliver the second component, complete the revaccination course, I feel good, there are no complications for the body,” said Alexander Ivanov, a spokesman for the Russian peacekeeping contingent.

Before the introduction of the domestic vaccine “Sputnik V”, military personnel undergo a medical examination with all the contraindications, restrictions and recommendations related to the introduction of the reintroduction of the first and second components.

“Currently, the Russian peacekeeping contingent is carrying out a planned revaccination of personnel, as well as a set of measures to prevent the spread of the new coronavirus infection. In personnel units, hand treatment, thermometry and express PCR testing for a new coronavirus infection, ”said Alexander Matveev, head of the admission and triage department of the medical unit. Before arriving on a business trip, the personnel were vaccinated against COVID-19, now there is a scheduled revaccination six months later, also against COVID-19. Only those servicemen who had no contraindications, and who received a full course of vaccination against COVID-19 more than six months ago, are subject to revaccination, “

First of all, medical workers, command personnel and duty units undergo revaccination, then the rest of the military.

In addition, thermometry points are deployed at observation posts and in subdivisions, and disinfection of the premises of block-modular towns is carried out.

The revaccination of military personnel is carried out in order to support them in the fulfillment of the tasks of the peacekeeping mission.

In accordance with the agreements specified in the joint statement of the President of the Russian Federation, the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia, from 00:00 Moscow time on November 10, 2020, a complete ceasefire and all hostilities in Nagorno-Karabakh were announced.

A peacekeeping contingent of the Russian Federation has been deployed to control the ceasefire and military operations in Nagorno-Karabakh.
