Since the beginning of the operation of the multifunctional medical center (MFC) of the Pacific Fleet Naval Clinical Hospital, more than 17 thousand laboratory tests have been carried out in Kamchatka in the diagnosis and treatment of patients from a new coronavirus infection.

To conduct tests for the presence of COVID-19, the latest equipment is used with which the laboratory complex is equipped. The multifunctional center has installed and commissioned more than 1,300 devices, devices and other medical special equipment for testing and treatment.

On the days of maximum loads, more than 180 tests per day were carried out in the laboratory of the multifunctional center, now the average is about 30-40.

MFC laboratory specialists carry out molecular testing, including polymerase chain reaction testing, identifying the genetic material of the virus to determine the infection of the tested person. In addition, serological testing is performed to detect antibodies to the virus produced after infection. These measures make it possible to stabilize the threshold of morbidity and successfully treat the sick, including not only military personnel and members of their families, but also residents of the Kamchatka Territory, who are undergoing treatment in agreement with the Ministry of Health under compulsory health insurance policies.
