Older volunteers can join the series of training webinars “Computer Lounge” and “Silver Glade”, which will be held as part of the “Young at Heart” program. Participants will learn how to use useful programs on the computer, as well as learn about volunteering and how to implement their good ideas.
“Volunteers of different ages, professions and interests are actively helping in the capital. Everyone can find activities and training to their liking. “Silver” volunteers are an active group of the volunteer community of the capital, which is replenished with new members. Since the beginning of this year, about 400 “silver” volunteers have supported about 90 events coordinated by the resource center, ”she said.
The training webinars of the Young at Heart program will be held in the capital for the second time. The topics of the classes will be different from the summer ones, so volunteers can participate in them repeatedly and expand their knowledge.
The first lesson of the “Computer Lounge” webinar took place on October 26. Volunteers who wish to receive a training certificate must join the webinars no later than November 8th. Classes in the direction “Silver Polyana” will begin on October 28. The educational program will end in mid-December.
In order to sign up for a training webinar, you must registerin the project “Young at heart”. The curators of the program will add all those registered to the chat in the messenger, where the participants will be provided with all the necessary information about the webinars. The resource center “Mosvolonter” received the right to become a regional volunteer center “Molody Soula” after winning the all-Russian grant competition of the same name in 2020.
In the online Computer Lounge classes, volunteers will learn modern technologies and tools that are essential for volunteering. First of all, they will learn how to create accounts in various Internet services, find information on the network, use spreadsheets and forms, sort data and apply filters, use templates and set up different levels of link access. Students will also learn how to download documents and upload them online. Participants will be given homework assignments that will help to consolidate the material covered. The acquired knowledge and skills will be useful for volunteers, team leaders and managers at events.
Volunteer Tatyana Soboleva joined the first stream of online classes to improve computer literacy. In her volunteer book, participation in such events as “Tropical Concerts” at the “Pharmaceutical Garden”, the Moscow Urban Forum in 2021, the charity event “In Good Hands” on Tverskoy Boulevard and others.
“In the summer, I attended several sessions of the Computer Lounge webinar, learned how to work with online spreadsheets and documents, and learned how to provide access to them. These are very good and informative webinars. There was a motivating environment – everyone studied, listened to the teacher, worked on their own. I brought two acquaintances with me who needed presentation skills. Such training webinars are positive communication and new knowledge, ”said Tatiana Soboleva.
At the Serebryanaya Polyana webinars, those who have recently joined the volunteer community will be introduced to the world of Moscow volunteering, and experienced volunteers will be told about current areas of assistance and opportunities to implement their projects. For example, participants in one of the online classes will learn how to give a second life to old clothes, help people in need and homeless animals. Also, the “silver” volunteers will be told about the “Telephone Volunteering” project, in which volunteers communicate with lonely pensioners and people with disabilities by phone. And at the consultation on a healthy lifestyle, it will be possible to discuss its importance for volunteers.
In summer, Tatiana Zaretskaya, an active volunteer from Moscow, took part in the Serebryanaya Polyana webinars. The list of her volunteer achievements includes participation in the 2018 FIFA World Cup, annual assistance at the Kind People festival, at the headquarters for meeting veterans and preparing for the Victory Parade, and the Spasskaya Tower International Military Music Festival. In addition, she was a volunteer for the Victory Train.
