Over 4 billion rubles will be allocated from the reserve fund for the purchase of drugs for the treatment of patients with coronavirus infection. This order was signed by Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin.

We are talking about the purchase of at least 500 vials of “Remdesivir” to help patients in inpatient conditions. The medicine is included in the methodological recommendations of the Ministry of Health for the treatment of a new coronavirus infection and helps to fight severe acute respiratory syndrome caused by COVID-19. “It is especially necessary for patients in the first days of treatment,” said Mikhail Mishustin at a meeting of the Presidium of the Coordination Council for the fight against coronavirus on October 26.

The centralized procurement of the drug will be handled by the Federal Center for Planning and Organization of Medicinal Supply of Citizens, subordinate to the Ministry of Health of Russia.

The Ministry of Health, in turn, was instructed to monitor the efficiency of spending federal funds and submit a report on this to the Government by June 1, 2022.
