Cadets of the faculty of training commanders for mountain units of the Far Eastern Higher Combined Arms Command School (DVOKU) began to master equestrian training.

At present, cadets perform initial equestrian training exercises, learn the basics of horse domestication. After gaining sufficient experience, future mountain shooters begin to devote more time to the use of animals for transporting goods in the mountains, master the rules of packing a horse, marches in mountainous and wooded areas, and also comprehend the elements of horse riding.

Equestrian training is needed for cadets to solve future combat missions. Military duty can throw them to different parts of Russia and the world, and horses are indispensable for moving in mountainous and forest areas, where a car or military equipment cannot pass.

Classes, in which cadets learn to work with horses, are held at the Belogoryevsky training ground in the Amur Region.

Currently, DVOKU is the only school in the country that trains platoon commanders for mountain and Arctic units of the ground forces. The training program, in addition to practice at landfills, includes regular internships in mountainous regions and the Arctic.
