On the eve of Rostov-on-Don, the All-Russian rowing competition “Hope of Russia” ended. The rank and file of the CSKA sports company (Sevastopol) won two medals: “gold” and “bronze”.

Competitions were held among juniors and juniors under 23 years old, as well as boys and girls under 19 years old in three classifications: personal, qualifying for the centralized training of Russian national teams and competitions of the 1st category. Athletes competed in two programs: rowing and indoor rowing (on a special rowing simulator).

At a distance of 2000 meters in the class of boats “two without a helmsman” the crew consisting of Denis Verbenko and Yuri Serov from Rostov was in the lead. Thus, Denis Verbenko, a private of the CSKA sports company, Sevastopol, master of sports in rowing sports, replenished the sports company with a gold medal. The second to finish was the crew of Ivan Nosenkov and Ilya Beknazarov from Moscow, the third were also Muscovites Murad Sadikhov and Nikita Smetansky.

A day earlier, a private of the CSKA sports company, Sevastopol, master of sports in rowing Ruslan Bayatov took third place in the indoor rowing program at a distance of 6,000 meters. “Gold” in this discipline was won by an athlete from Chelyabinsk Alexander Yakovlev, “silver” went to Maxim Zhevlachenko from Moscow.

The athletes commented on their performances for the CSKA press center, Sevastopol.

“Basically, I play together with my partner Yuri Serov. This year the all-Russian competition is over. The most difficult part was spinning 6,000 meters in the building on a special Concept 2 simulator. On the water we performed as we expected. In December, regional competitions will be held on the same simulators. Sport is an unpredictable thing, and even in one month everything can change. Therefore, there are small goals, after which there will be big victories. I started rowing when I was in 7th grade. Then I still could not think that I would stay here for so long. Sport gave me a lot: good friends and acquaintances throughout Russia, tempered my character, showed that we must always achieve our goals and even more, ”said Denis Verbenko.

“I trained in Rostov-on-Don under the guidance of my coach Vladimir Arustanovich Lazyan. We trained on the water, ran, twisted the bike, did physical training in the gym. It was a selection for the Russian national team U23. On the first day of the competition there was indoor rowing on the simulator. In the morning there was a distance of 2000 meters, on which I took 4th place. In the evening there was a distance of 6000 meters, I came third in the overall standings. And the next day there were water competitions. The most difficult period for me was before the competition. In order not to constantly think about them and not overload myself, two days before the start of the races, I reduced the load, did not go to the rowing canal, studied at home, and abstracted myself a little. It was hard, but I prepared well. I had strong rivals – they were participants in international competitions, and world medalists, and champions of European championships. The next seasonal competition will take place in the summer. Preparations for them will begin on November 5. This will be a “dry” collection, that is, training on land. In 10 years, I want to see myself as at least an honored master of sports, and at best, an Olympic champion. Sport helped me to become purposeful and disciplined, to properly allocate my time, “Ruslan Bayatov commented on his performance at the tournament.

After the competition “Hope of Russia” Ruslan Bayatov was included in the list of the Russian youth rowing team.
