Rescuers of the Southern Regional Search and Rescue Team of the EMERCOM of Russia are undergoing advanced training under the Speleological Training program.

The main task of these training camps is to practice skills in organizing and conducting rescue operations in caves. Passing various vertical and horizontal sections of the Vorontsov Caves system, Sochi rescuers practice evacuating conventionally injured tourists using various transportation technologies. This is work with trolls, transfer of stretchers to trolleys, transportation of conditionally injured people over the rubble.

At the beginning of the training camp, the rescuers underwent theoretical training in classrooms, then, before a seven-day caving trip to the mountainous area, they practiced the technologies of work at the training ground of the YURPSO EMERCOM of Russia.

The caves of the Crimea and the Caucasus have their own differences, but the specificity of the rescue operations is the same. So, in the Crimea there are more than one and a half thousand vertical caves. Accordingly, the load that rescuers bear when carrying out these works is quite high.

According to the leaders of the training camps, complex and large rescue operations in the caves of the Crimea take place, on average, once every 2-3 years. At the same time, at least twice a year, such camps are held for both YURPSO cavers and rescuers from other regions of Russia. They exchange experience, share information, to improve the skills of carrying out rescue operations in difficult conditions.
