The Russian Ministry of Defense has organized another press tour for foreign and Russian media writing on military topics. This time – to the troops and forces of the Eastern Military District. On October 27, 60 journalists representing Russian and foreign media visited the city of submariners Vilyuchinsk.

Previously, the military department conducted similar press tours to the northernmost garrison, to the land of Franz Joseph, where journalists visited the Arctic Shamrock base, as well as to the Syrian Arab Republic, to the Khmeimim airbase located in the province of Latakia.

Among the participants in the current press tour are journalists writing and filming from China, Japan, Russian TV channels ORT, NTV, Russia, and Zvezda.

During their visit to Vilyuchinsk, the pen and television camera workers got acquainted with the life of the Vilyuchinsky garrison, in particular, they visited the Sports and Recreation Complex (Vilyuchinsk) of the branch of the FAU Defense Ministry of the Russian Federation CSKA (SKA, Khabarovsk), where submariners go in for sports and spend their leisure time.

The excursion for the journalists was led by the head of the SOC (Vilyuchinsk), Major of the Reserve Alexei Ivanov.

Aleksey Sergeevich spoke about what kinds of sports divers go in for here, as well as about the main sections that their children go to. In addition to the swimming department of the Sports School (Olympic reserve, complex) of the CSKA / Khabarovsk branch, there are taekwondo, rhythmic gymnastics, diving, and hockey sections here.

In his story, Alexey Ivanov paid special attention to the activities of the Yunarmeysky detachment of the SOK (Vilyuchinsk), which recently received its banner, consecrated in the Orthodox garrison church of the Holy Apostle Andrew the First-Called, and was named after Alexander Nevsky. At the same time, five newly minted young soldiers were admitted to the ranks of the detachment. This solemn event took place on the pier near the Alexander Nevsky nuclear submarine in the presence of the submarine’s crew members and the deputy commander of the nuclear submarine for military-political work, Captain 2nd Rank Fyodor Kalinin, who handed the young army books and badges to those who had joined the VVPOD.

After the tour of the sports and recreation complex, Aleksey Ivanov answered numerous questions from journalists.
