The first battalion tactical groups of formations and military units of the Southern Military District (YuVO), involved in a large-scale bilateral command and staff exercise of the combined-arms armies of the Southern Military District, returned to their permanent deployment points (PPD).

The return to the PPD was carried out on standard equipment in a combined way, including by train echelons, military transport aircraft and as part of mechanized convoys.

Subdivisions and military units, located at a considerable distance from the points of permanent deployment, marched to military airfields, from where they were transferred to the PPD by military transport aircraft. Part of the formations made marches on their own from the areas of the exercises. Tank formations and units were delivered by rail and road trawls.

Completed the redeployment from operational airfields to permanent airfields, the crews of the operational-tactical aviation of the Southern Military District, as well as warships, boats and support vessels of the Black Sea Fleet and the Caspian Flotilla, having completed tasks at sea ranges, returned to the naval bases deployed in the Krasnodar Territory, Astrakhan region, Dagestan and Crimea.

In total, 45 training grounds and sections of terrain on the territory of four states (Russia, Abkhazia, Armenia, South Ossetia) – 25 combined-arms, 3 aviation and 17 sea training grounds in the waters of the Black and Caspian Seas – were involved in the practical actions of the troops.

A large-scale bilateral command and staff exercise on command and control of troops in the South-West strategic direction has been completed in the South of Russia and in the places of deployment of Russian military bases in the Transcaucasus.

Under the leadership of the commander of the Southern Military District, General of the Army Alexander Dvornikov, battalion tactical groups of formations and military units of the district, in a single tactical plan, conducted bilateral tactical exercises at 25 combined-arms training grounds located in the Astrakhan, Volgograd and Rostov regions, in the Kuban and Stavropol regions, in the republics of the North Caucasus. in Crimea, as well as at Russian military bases in Abkhazia, Armenia and South Ossetia.

More than 8,000 servicemen from the three combined-arms armies, the Black Sea Fleet and the Caspian Flotilla, the Air Force and Air Defense Combine, formations and units of the combat arms and special forces of district subordination were involved in practical actions in the field.
