In the Republic of Bashkortostan, the rescuers of the Russian Emergencies Ministry carried out a unique operation. Thanks to the specialists of the Ufa search and rescue squad, the wheelchair-bound Nadezhda was able to visit the Askyn cave for the first time.

Throughout the excursion, the rescuers of the emergency department ensured safety and in every possible way supported their ward. They found the safest and most acceptable route, clearing it of logs and large stones. They organized the ascent, and then the descent with the help of climbing equipment into the cave itself.

There is a wooden gazebo at the entrance to the cave, where a tourist, supported by lifeguards, was able to go down the stairs to the cave. She was able to see with her own eyes the unique centuries-old relic ice preserved in the Askyn cave and survived hundreds of generations of people on earth. On the territory of the reserve, there is also a yurt, in which the members of the expedition tasted food, warmed themselves with hot tea cooked over a fire.

The ice cave is located in the Arkhangelsk region of Bashkiria and is a natural monument of federal significance. It is the only one in Europe that has a bag-like shape. The depth of the cave is 26 meters, the length is 104 meters. The entrance is at a height of 70 meters above the level of the Maly Askyn River.

In 2015, the rescuers of the Russian Emergencies Ministry came to the rescue when lifting wheelchair users up Mount Iremel.
